A referendum was held on 5 May 2011 on whether or not to change the electoral system for the House of Commons. The issue was whether to replace the present First Past The Post (FPTP) voting system with the Alternative Vote (AV). The result was a victory for the present system, by 68 per cent to 32 per cent, on a turnout of 41 per cent.
Of those two systems, Federal Union favours AV. Read about the reasons here.
